Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a comprehensive program at COES, which provides varying levels of support based on specific behavior needs of our students. School wide, all of our students are taught our school expectations Be Safe Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Unified, and how these apply in each area of the school. The program is also designed to help students who are struggling meeting the schools expectations. The student supports intensify if behavior challenges continue to occur after a student receives multiple behavior infractions.
In addition to a system of behavior supports, we provide opportunities to recognize those students who are making positive choices and demonstrating positive leadership. These opportunities occur through our Hawk Hoorays, a monthly Principal's Pizza Lunch, and special recognition through our Student of the Month awards.
There is a PBIS Committee that meets monthly to analyze behavior reports and to address areas of need.
